At TCA Sertec, we believe that architecture and rehabilitation have the ability to transform much more than buildings. Spaces influence the way people relate, work, share experiences, and build community. That’s why some projects have a special meaning. One of them has been the renovation and improvement of the Colla Castellera de Barcelona's venue.
Talking about castells is talking about collective effort, trust, and tradition. These are values deeply rooted in Catalan culture and find their maximum expression in every rehearsal and in every human construction that defies gravity. Behind every castell exists a space where everything begins: the place where the colla gathers, prepares, learns, and grows.
With this idea as a starting point, we have carried out an action aimed at improving the usability of the venue, adapting it to the current needs of an entity with intense social and cultural activity.
An intervention in service of the people
The project has focused on optimizing the functionality, safety, and comfort of the facilities, ensuring that the space can continue to be a reference meeting point for all its members.
The actions taken have included:
- Adjustment and improvement of different areas of the venue to promote the development of the colla's activities.
- Optimization of spaces and interior pathways to improve circulation and the use of the facilities.
- Technical interventions aimed at reinforcing the safety, durability, and maintenance of the building.
- Renovation of finishes and lighting to create more welcoming, functional spaces aligned with the entity's identity.
Every project decision has been made with the everyday use of the space and the people who inhabit it in mind, with the goal of generating an environment capable of supporting the growth and activity of the Colla Castellera de Barcelona in the coming years.
